While in the Picos, I was exploring a cave called 66/5, which had been originally pushed by Gavin Lowe and that other Tim. I was nearing the bottom of the known cave, climbing down the last 8ft of a 60ft climb, when a large piece of the cave wall, about 2ft by 3ft by 3inches wide, detached itself above me and slid down the climb. It came to rest on a small ledge just wider than the slab just above my head. I came to rest curled up in the narrow part of the elliptical-shaped drainpipe. I wasn't standing on anything, just wedged in, and I don't remember how I got there. But I didn't die. I did go walking for the next three days. I think this was in 1991.
